Seat Backrest - Front, With Seat Integrated Restraints (SIR): Removal

  1. Remove the affected front seat cushion. For additional information, refer to SEAT CUSHION - FRONT, WITH SEAT INTEGRATED RESTRAINTS (SIR) .
  2. Remove the safety belt buckle nut and release the safety belt buckle from the seat.

  3. Disconnect seat backrest recliner control cable, remove the front seat backrest recliner bolt and safety belt anchor nut.
    1. Release the seat backrest recliner control cable from its 2 attachment points.
    2. Remove the front seat backrest recliner bolt.
    3. Remove safety belt anchor nut.

  4. NOTE: Discard the 2 front seat backrest pivot bolts and install new bolts during installation.
    NOTE: Slowly feed the recliner cable through the riser slot as the seat backrest is removed.

  5. Remove the 2 front seat backrest pivot bolts and the seat backrest.
