Disassembly and Assembly

    All seats 

  1. Remove the 60/40 rear seat. For additional information, refer to SEAT - REAR, 60/40, CREWCAB .
  2. Remove the 60 percent or 40 percent backrest. For additional information, refer to SEAT BACKREST - REAR, 60/40, CREWCAB .
  3. Remove the head restraint.
    1. Pull the head restraint out to end of travel. Press the release button and pull the head restraint rod past its stop position.
    2. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, press the release tab on the second head restraint guide and pull the head restraint free of the seat back.

  4. NOTE: The LH and RH head restraint guides are not interchangeable. Note location for installation.
  5. Using an appropriate pry tool, press in the release tab and remove the head restraint guides.
    • Release tab is located beneath the head restraint release tab.

  6. Remove the clip and remove the backrest latch handle.

  7. 60 percent seat 

    NOTE: When removing the bolts, make sure to retain the washers from behind the armrest swivel arms.
  8. Remove the 4 armrest bolts and remove the armrest assembly.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers and remove the insert panel.
  10. All seats 

  11. Release the backrest trim cover lower J-clip.
  12. Remove the RH and LH staples (RH side shown).

  13. CAUTION: Use care when separating the backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn from the backrest foam.
  14. Invert the backrest trim cover and release the hook-and-loop strips.
  15. Remove all the hog rings and remove the backrest trim cover.
  16. Remove the screws and the hardboard panel.
  17. Remove the backrest foam pad from the backrest frame.
  18. 60 percent seat 

  19. Using a suitable tool, pry to release the cable anchor, swivel the cable end and remove.
  20. Detach all the cable clips.
  21. Using a suitable tool, pry to release the other cable anchor, swivel the cable end and remove.
  22. Remove the bolts and remove the LH backrest latch.
    • To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
  23. Remove the bolts and remove the center backrest latch.
    • To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
  24. 40 percent seat 

    NOTE: Use care not to damage the bushing. If damaged, install a new bushing.
  25. Using a suitable tool, carefully pry the center support from the bushing.
    • If necessary, remove the bushing.
  26. Remove the bolts and remove the RH backrest latch.
    • To install, tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb-ft).
  27. All seats 

  28. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
