Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the A-pillar lower trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the 3 parking brake control nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  3. Position the parking brake control aside.
  4. Remove the E-clip, release the return spring and position the hood latch release handle aside.
  5. Release the hood latch release cable and remove the hood latch release handle.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.


  1. Remove the A-pillar lower trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the 3 parking brake control nuts.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  3. Position the parking brake control aside.
  4. Remove the E-clip, release the return spring and position the hood latch release handle aside.
  5. Release the hood latch release cable and remove the hood latch release handle.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
