Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor: Removal

    CAUTION: Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information refer to ENGINE COOLING .
  3. Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.

  4. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) electrical connector.
  5. Remove the ECT sensor and discard the O-ring seal.
