Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
- Remove the nut and position the positive battery cable and support bracket aside.
- To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
- Remove the bolt and position the battery negative cable aside.
- To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt, the CKP sensor and discard the O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 13 Nm (10 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new O-ring seal.
CAUTION:
Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position prior to working on the electronic engine controls.
NOTE:
The crankshaft position (CKP) sensor is located underneath the air conditioning compressor.
NOTE:
Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring seal prior to installation.
