Pinpoint Test L: One Turn Signal/Hazard Lamp Is Inoperative

- L1 CHECK THE STOPLAMPS FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Apply and release the brake pedal.
- Do the stoplamps operate correctly?
Yes : GO to L2.
No : REFER to STOPLAMPS in this section to continue diagnosis of the stoplamps.
- L2 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE INOPERATIVE LAMP
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Inoperative Turn Signal/Hazard Flasher Lamp.
- Place the hazard flasher lamp switch in the ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the inoperative lamp, harness side and ground as follows:SPECIAL TOOL(S)
Inoperative Turn Lamp Connector-Pin Circuit LH front C1023-3 3 (LG/WH) RH front C1043-3 2 (WH/LB) - Does the voltage alternate between less than 1 volt and greater than 10 volts?
Yes : REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
No : GO to L3.
- L3 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH
- Carry out the multifunction switch component test. Refer to MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH, TURN PORTION for component testing.
- Is the multifunction switch OK?
Yes : REPAIR circuit 3 (LG/WH) or 2 (WH/LB) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
No : INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation.
