Output Shaft Speed (OSS) Sensor: Removal

    All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor.

  3. 4x4 vehicles 

    NOTE: Prior to removing the speed sensor, make sure that the area around the sensor is free of debris to prevent contamination of the transmission.
  4. Remove the OSS sensor.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Remove the OSS sensor.

  5. 4x2 vehicles 

    NOTE: Prior to removing the speed sensor, make sure that the area around the sensor is free of debris to prevent contamination of the transmission.
  6. Remove the OSS sensor.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    2. Remove the OSS sensor.
