Removal & Installation

WARNING: Before removing center console, wait one minute after disconnecting negative battery cable. Failure to wait may cause accidental deployment of air bag(s) and may cause personal injury.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait one minute. Move front seat(s) fully forward to access and remove 2 rear floor center console screws (one on each side of console). Apply parking brake. Remove shift selector lever indicator bezel from console.
  2. NOTE: Rear floor console must be raised to disengage the front retaining clips.
  3. Remove 3 bolts retaining center console cover to shift selector and remove center console cover from shift selector housing. Raise and remove rear floor console. Remove 4 screws retaining front floor console. Set gearshift selector lever into "1" position. Partially remove front floor console.
  4. Disconnect electrical connectors to cigarette lighter and remove front center console. Disconnect electrical connector from AFCM. Carefully separate velcro retaining AFCM, by pulling AFCM downward. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure shift lock actuator is connected to shift linkage.
