Warning Messages

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Mariner and 2006 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The instrument cluster messages that are displayed when a fault occurs are shown in the following table:

WARNING MESSAGES CHART

The warning messages continue to cycle in order until the vehicle condition causing the warning is corrected, until the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position, or until the message center is reset while the warning is displayed. A warning is removed from the display when the message center is reset unless the warning is non-resettable. A repeated warning message is removed from the display when the message center is reset and displays again after 10 minutes if the warning condition is not corrected. The single cycle warning message is removed from the display when the message center is reset and is not displayed again until the next ignition cycle. Multiple messages are cycled through in a fixed order with a display of 4 seconds for each warning. No other display modes are allowed while a warning message is displayed.
