DTC P2805: Transmission Range Sensor Correlation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Mercury Mariner and 2006 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
P2805 - TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR CORRELATION

Description:  The PCM checks the gear selector position by monitoring 3 independent voltage signals from the transmission range (TR) sensor. The TR voltages are then compared to an allowed voltage range for each gear. The test fails when the compared voltages are out of range. This DTC indicates that all 3 TR sensors disagree but are still within range.
Possible Causes:
  • Two or three TR circuits shorted together.
  • Damaged TR sensor.
