Pinpoint Test G: The Roof Opening Panel Does Not Open Or Close In Vent Position

  1. G1 VERIFY THE ROOF OPENING PANEL ADJUSTMENT 
    • Verify the roof opening panel is adjusted correctly.
    • Is the roof opening panel adjusted correctly? 
  2. G2 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL LIFTER ASSEMBLIES FOR OBSTRUCTIONS AND DAMAGE 
    • Check the roof opening panel lifter assemblies for obstructions and damage.
    • Are the roof opening panel lifter assemblies OK? 
    • Yes  : GO to  G3.
    • No  : REMOVE all obstructions and REPAIR any damage. INITIALIZE the roof opening panel. Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION  in this article . TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. G3 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL CONTROL SWITCH 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Roof Opening Panel Control Switch C912.
    • Carry out the roof opening panel control switch component test. Refer to COMPONENT TEST  in this article .
    • Is the roof opening panel control switch OK? 
    • Yes  : GO to  G4.
    • No  : INSTALL a new roof opening panel control switch. INITIALIZE the roof opening panel. Refer to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR INITIALIZATION  in this article . TEST the system for normal operation.
  4. G4 CHECK CIRCUIT 32-AG12 (WH/GN) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND OR AN OPEN 
    • Disconnect: Roof Opening Panel Motor C920.
    • Measure the resistance between the roof opening panel motor C920-4, circuit 32-AG12 (WH/GN), harness side and ground; and between the roof opening panel motor C920-4, circuit 32-AG12 (WH/GN), harness side and the roof opening panel control switch C912-4, circuit 32-AG12 (WH/GN), harness side.

    • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the roof opening panel motor and ground, and less than 5 ohms between the roof opening panel control switch and the roof opening panel motor? 
  5. G5 CHECK CIRCUIT 33-AG10 (YE/BU) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND OR AN OPEN 
    • Measure the resistance between the roof opening panel motor C920-8, circuit 33-AG10 (YE/BU), harness side and ground; and between the roof opening panel motor C920-8, circuit 33-AG10 (YE/BU), harness side and the roof opening panel control switch C912-5, circuit 33-AG10 (YE/BU), harness side.

    • Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms between the roof opening panel motor and ground, and less than 5 ohms between the roof opening panel motor and the roof opening panel control switch?
