Front Door Window Glass: Removal

NOTE: The front window motors must be initialized whenever the following occurs: the motor is removed from the window regulator, a new motor is installed, a new window regulator is installed, a new window glass is installed, a glass top run removal and installation has been carried out or when carrying out any operation in which grease or lubricants are applied to the window system. A new front window motor is in a proportional up/down mode until initialized. For additional information, Refer to DOOR WINDOW MOTOR INITIALIZATION  in this article.
  1. Remove the front door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the watershield.
  3. Remove the interior weatherstrip.
  4. Connect the window control switch electrical connector.
  5. Connect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  6. Using the window control switch, position the front door window regulator-to-glass clamp bolts to align with the access holes.

  7. Loosen the 2 front door window regulator-to-glass clamp bolts, allowing the window glass to move from the clamp.
  8. Hold the glass in place, lower the front door window regulator to the full down position, and remove the front door window glass.
