Side Crash Sensor: Removal

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove front seat. See FRONT SEAT  . Fold back floor covering to access side crash sensor. Disconnect crash sensor electrical connector. Remove 2 mounting bolts and remove crash sensor and bracket from vehicle. See Figure .

CAUTION: Side crash sensor mounting bolts that are not properly tightened may cause air bag system malfunction. Improper air bag deployment may result. Ensure side crash sensor mounting bolts are tightened to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
