Seat Belt PRETENSIONERS: Removal

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Place fingers behind seat belt cover, push outward and remove cover (DO NOT use screwdriver to remove seat belt cover). Working through seat belt cover opening, remove seat belt anchor nut.
- Position adjustable seat belt "D" ring to highest position and remove upper B-pillar trim panel. Remove front and rear door scuff plates. Remove lower B-pillar trim panel. Remove "D" ring mounting nut and seat belt guide. Using Seat Belt Bolt Bit (501-010), remove pretensioner mounting bolt. See Figure . Remove pretensioner.
