Restraints Control Module (RCM): Installation

CAUTION:
RCM mounting bolts that are not properly tightened may result in air bag system malfunction. Improper air bag system operation may result. Ensure RCM mounting bolts are tightened to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- Position RCM in vehicle and install mounting bolts. Tighten RCM mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect RCM electrical connectors. Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy.
- To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
