Component Replacement Activation Procedure (Seats Installed)

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air bag simulators from left and right front seat belt harness connectors and reconnect connectors. Install left and right B-pillar trim panels and weatherstripping. Install left and right door scuff plates.
  2. Remove air bag simulators from left and right side air bag harness connectors. Reconnect connectors and install connectors on connector brackets under front seats. Connect negative battery cable. Move and tilt front seats to their lowest and most rearward position. Disconnect negative battery cable and wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy. Remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag harness connector and reconnect connectors. Install glove box.
  3. Remove air bag simulator from clockspring lower harness connector and reconnect connectors. Install steering opening reinforcement and tighten mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Tighten driver-side instrument panel tunnel brace bolts to specification and reposition carpet. Install left heater duct and screw. Attach hood latch release cable to handle and install hood latch release handle. Reconnect electrical connectors and install steering column opening cover. Perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Reprogram pre-set radio frequencies and set clock.
