Test F: Driver Air Bag Circuit Short To Battery Or Ignition (DTC B1916): Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Restraints Control Module (RCM) checks driver-side air bag module circuit for short to battery by monitoring voltage at RCM harness connector C310A terminals No. 3 (Red/Orange wire) and No. 4 (Black/Orange wire). If RCM detects short to battery either terminal, it will store Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) B1916 in memory and flash Code 15 on AIR BAG warning light.
