Safety Belt Warning Indicator

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The instrument cluster receives the safety belt warning status from the RCM through hardwired circuitry. The safety belt switch is hardwired to the RCM. When the safety belt is fastened, the safety belt switch opens and removes the ground to the RCM. When the safety belt is unfastened, the safety belt switch closes and grounds the circuit to the RCM.
