Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Remove the engine air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Remove the fresh air inlet duct. For additional information, refer to AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Disconnect the LH heater hose at the front of the heater hose and tube assembly.
- Disconnect the RH heater hose at the front of the heater hose and tube assembly.
- Disconnect the heater outlet hose at the front of the heater hose and tube assembly.
- Remove the rear heater hose and tube assembly bracket bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Remove the front heater hose and tube assembly bracket bolt.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Release the 3 heater core hose clamps and disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.
- Release the bypass hose clamp and disconnect the bypass hose.
- Remove heater hose and tube assembly.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Clean and lubricate the coolant hoses with plain water only if needed.
