Removal and Installation

All vehicles
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
- Remove the engine air cleaner outlet tube. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING

Vehicles equipped with 3.9L engine
- Drain the engine coolant. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
- Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose.
Vehicles equipped with 3.0L engine
- Clamp off the 3 heater hoses at the dual coolant control valve.
All vehicles
- Release the dual control valve hose clamp and disconnect the hose.
- Release the LH heater hose clamp and disconnect the hose.
- Release the RH heater hose clamp and disconnect the hose.
- Disconnect the dual coolant control valve electrical connector.
- Remove the dual coolant control valve bolt.
- Remove the dual coolant control valve.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Clean and lubricate the coolant hoses with plain water only, if needed.
- Fill the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING .
