Removal & Installation (Upstream)
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln LS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) is equipped with a permanent pigtail which must be protected when HO2S is removed. HO2S may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is less than 120°F (48°C). If necessary, use a penetrant to help in loosening HO2S. Ensure HO2S is free of contaminants, and avoid using cleaning solvents of any type. Apply a light coat of high temperature nickel anti-seize lubricant to threads of HO2S. Tighten HO2S to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
