Removal & Installation (3.9L)

  1. If removing fuel rail pressure sensor while fuel injection supply manifold assembly is still installed on engine, release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove electrical connector (if necessary) and vacuum hose at fuel rail pressure sensor.
  2. Remove 2 fuel rail pressure sensor mounting bolts. Remove fuel rail pressure sensor assembly, seal and "O" rings. Discard seal and "O" rings. To install, ensure sealing surfaces are clean. Lubricate NEW "O" rings and seal with clean 5W-30 engine oil. Install NEW "O" ring and gasket on fuel rail pressure sensor. Install fuel rail pressure sensor and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
