Removal & Installation

CAUTION: Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor hot wire sensing element and housing are calibrated as a unit and must be repaired as a complete assembly. DO NOT damage sensing element, or possible failure of MAF sensor may occur.

Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect MAF sensor harness connector. Loosen screws on air cleaner outlet tube clamp. Release air cleaner housing cover clips and remove air cleaner housing cover. Remove bolts and MAF sensor. Discard MAF sensor gasket. A NEW MAF sensor gasket must be installed when MAF sensor is removed. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
