Removal and Installation

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Remove the thermostat housing. For additional information, refer to THERMOSTAT HOUSING - 3.9L .
- Loosen the coolant pump pulley bolts.
- Do not remove at this time.
- Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING .
- Remove the 3 bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in), then rotate an additional 45 degrees.
- Remove the 5 bolts and the coolant pump.
- Remove and discard the coolant pump gasket.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in), then rotate an additional 90 degrees.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new coolant pump gasket.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
