Removal and Installation

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM COMPONENTS - EXPLODED VIEW, RADIATOR, COOLING FAN MOTOR AND SHROUD and COOLING FAN MOTOR AND SHROUD .
- Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
- Remove the 3 bolts and the intake manifold support bracket.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Disconnect the coolant pump-to-radiator hose and position aside.
- Disconnect the coolant pump-to-coolant inlet pipe hose and position aside.
- Disconnect the coolant pump-to-thermostat housing hose and position aside.
- Remove the 3 bolts and the coolant pump.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
