Removal and Installation

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
- Remove the thermostat housing. For additional information, refer to THERMOSTAT HOUSING - 3.9L .
- Disconnect the throttle body heater hose from the coolant outlet pipe and position aside.
- Disconnect the degas bottle hose from the coolant outlet pipe and position aside.
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the coolant outlet pipe and position aside.
- Remove the 4 bolts and the coolant outlet pipe.
- Inspect the 2 coolant outlet pipe seals and install new seals if necessary.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
