Valve Cover - LH: Removal

CAUTION:
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
- Remove the LH ignition coil-on-plugs. For additional information, refer to ENGINE IGNITION - 3.0L (4V) .
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube from the PCV valve.
- Disconnect the cylinder head temperature (CHT) sensor electrical connector.
- Detach the hose retainer from the engine appearance cover bracket.
- Position the hoses aside.
- Disconnect the variable camshaft timing (VCT) solenoid electrical connector.
- Detach the 4 wiring retainers from the valve cover and the valve cover stud bolts.
- Remove the 2 nuts and position the wiring harness conduit aside.
- Remove and discard the CHT sensor.
- Remove the 4 nuts and the 2 engine appearance cover brackets.
- Remove the 12 stud bolts and the valve cover.
