Exhaust Manifold - RH: Installation

Install the 6 new exhaust manifold studs.
- Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

NOTE: To make sure of a seal, the manifold bolts must be tightened to the same specification 2 times.

Position a new gasket and the exhaust manifold. Install the new nuts and tighten in the sequence shown in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
Position the exhaust manifold heat shield and install the 3 bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Position the catalytic converter and install the 2 catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
Install the RH lower splash shield.
Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
