Pinpoint Test E: DTC C1145 (RF), DTC C1155 (LF), DTC C1165 (RR), DTC C1175 (LR) - WHEEL SPEED SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT FAILURE

CAUTION:
Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multimeter probes.
- E1 CHECK THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE NOTE: Both circuits must be checked for each DTC.
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Module C155.
- Disconnect: Suspect Wheel Speed Sensor.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between ABS module C155 pins, harness side and ground, as follows:DTC C1145, DTC C1155, DTC C1165, DTC C1175 SPECIFICATIONS
DTC ABS Module C155 Pin Circuit C1145 (RF) 33 8-CF38 (WH/RD) C1145 (RF) 34 7-CF38 (YE/RD) C1155 (LF) 45 7-CF32 (YE) C1155 (LF) 46 8-CF32 (WH) C1165 (RR) 42 8-CF40 (WH/GN) C1165 (RR) 43 7-CF40 (YE/GN) C1175 (LR) 36 7-CF34 (YE/BU) C1175 (LR) 37 8-CF34 (WH/BU) - Is voltage present?
- Yes : REPAIR the circuit in question. CLEAR the DTC(s). REPEAT the self-test.
- No : GO to E2.
- E2 CHECK THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND NOTE: Both circuits must be checked for each DTC.
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between ABS module C155 pins harness side and ground, as follows:DTC C1145, DTC C1155, DTC C1165, DTC C1175 SPECIFICATIONS
DTC ABS Module C155 Pin Circuit C1145 (RF) 33 8-CF38 (WH/RD) C1145 (RF) 34 7-CF38 (YE/RD) C1155 (LF) 45 7-CF32 (YE) C1155 (LF) 46 8-CF32 (WH) C1165 (RR) 42 8-CF40 (WH/GN) C1165 (RR) 43 7-CF40 (YE/GN) C1175 (LR) 36 7-CF34 (YE/BU) C1175 (LR) 37 8-CF34 (WH/BU) - Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?
- Yes : GO to E3.
- No : REPAIR the circuit in question. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.
- E3 CHECK THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN NOTE: Both circuits must be checked for each DTC.
- Measure the resistance between ABS module C155 pins, harness side and the suspect wheel speed sensor connector pins, harness side as follows:DTC C1145, DTC C1155, DTC C1165, DTC C1175 & WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CONNECTOR PIN SPECIFICATIONS
DTC Circuit ABS Module C155 Pin Wheel Speed Sensor Connector Pin C1145 (RF) 8-CF38 (WH/RD) 33 2 C1145 (RF) 7-CF38 (YE/RD) 34 1 C1155 (LF) 7-CF32 (YE) 45 1 C1155 (LF) 8-CF32 (WH) 46 2 C1165 (RR) 7-CF40 (YE/GN) 43 1 C1165 (RR) 8-CF40 (WH/GN) 42 2 C1175 (LR) 8-CF34 (WH/BU) 37 1 C1175 (LR) 7-CF34 (YE/BU) 36 2 - Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to E4.
- No : REPAIR the circuit in question. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.
- Measure the resistance between ABS module C155 pins, harness side and the suspect wheel speed sensor connector pins, harness side as follows:
- E4 CHECK THE WHEEL SPEED SENSOR CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT
- Measure the resistance between the suspect wheel speed sensor pins.
- Is the resistance greater 10,000 ohms?
- Yes : GO to E5.
- No : REPAIR the circuit in question. CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.
- E5 CHECK THE ABS MODULE OUTPUT
- Connect: ABS Module C155.
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the suspect wheel speed sensor pins, harness side.
- Is the voltage less than 9 volts?
- Yes : INSTALL a new ABS module. REFER to ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE in this article . CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.
- No : INSTALL a new wheel speed sensor. For the front wheel speed sensor, REFER to WHEEL SPEED SENSOR - FRONT in this article . CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test. For the rear wheel speed sensor, REFER to WHEEL SPEED SENSOR - REAR in this article . CLEAR the DTC. REPEAT the self-test.
