Shift Cable

- Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect the shift cable from the Transmission Range (TR) sensor manual control lever. Place the TR sensor manual control lever in the D5 position. See Fig 1 .
- This is 3 positions from the most rearward position. Disconnect the shift cable from the gearshift lever. See Fig 2 . Connect the transmission shift cable to the TR sensor manual control lever.
- Unlock the adjuster at the end of the cable. See Fig 3 . Connect the shift cable to the shifter and lock the end of the adjuster. Lower the vehicle. Carefully move the TR sensor manual control lever from Park to Low then back to Park and compare with transmission settings.
- Verify that the vehicle will start in Park or Neutral and backup lamps illuminate in Reverse. If not, steps 1 and 2 must be repeated and include TR sensor adjustment in Neutral. Adjust as necessary.
