Removal and Installation

  1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the lower B-Pillar trim panel.
    • Pull the lower B-Pillar trim panel toward the center of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.
  3. Position the front seat forward for access.
  4. Remove the front safety belt anchor-to-seat nut cover.
  5. Remove the front safety belt anchor-to-seat nut.
    • To install, tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
  6. Disconnect the belt tension sensor electrical connector.

  7. Remove the B-pillar screw cover.
  8. Remove the B-pillar screw.
  9. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel.
    • Pull the lower portion of the upper B-pillar trim panel toward the center of the vehicle to release the retaining clips.
    • Lower the upper B-pillar trim panel from the headliner.
    • Separate the upper B-pillar trim panel from the front safety belt.
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
