Removal and Installation

- Relieve the parking brake cable tension. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE TENSION RELEASE .
- If removing the RH cable, release the intermediate cable from the rear cable-to-cable union.
- If removing the LH cable, disconnect the cable from the intermediate cable at the equalizer.
- Release the parking brake cable from the brake caliper.
- Release the rear cable conduit from the rear subframe bracket.
- Remove the upper control arm parking brake cable bracket nut.
- To install, tighten to 37 Nm (27 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Inspect the parking brake system for correct operation.
