Pinpoint Test A: No Communication With The Instrument Cluster: Testing

A1 CHECK THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER POWER SUPPLY

Disconnect: Instrument Cluster C220.
Key in ON position.

Measure the voltage between the instrument cluster, harness side and ground as follows:

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Instrument Cluster Connector-Pin	Circuit
C220-1	1566 (RD/YE)
C220-3	483 (RD)
C220-5	295 (LB/PK)

Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?

Yes : GO to A2.
No : REPAIR the circuit in question. TEST the system for normal operation.

A2 CHECK THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GROUND CIRCUITS

Key in OFF position.

Measure the resistance between the instrument cluster, harness side and ground as follows:

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

Instrument Cluster Connector-Pin	Circuit
C220-2	1203 (BK/LB)
C220-4	1205 (BK)

Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?

Yes : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue communication diagnosis.
No : REPAIR the circuit in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
