Pinpoint Test I: Spongy Brake Pedal with No Warning Indicator: Testing

- I1 CHECK THE VEHICLE COMPONENT MOUNTING
- Inspect the brake pedal and brake booster/brake master cylinder for correct attachment.
- Bleed the brake system. Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Is the brake pedal still spongy?
- Yes : GO to I2.
- No : The brake system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by air in the hydraulic system.
- I2 BLEED THE BRAKE SYSTEM
- Bleed the brake system using the diagnostic tool. Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Is the brake pedal spongy?
- Yes : REFER to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
- No : The brake system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by air in the hydraulic control unit (HCU).
