Pinpoint Test I: Spongy Brake Pedal with No Warning Indicator: Testing

  1. I1 CHECK THE VEHICLE COMPONENT MOUNTING 
    • Inspect the brake pedal and brake booster/brake master cylinder for correct attachment.
    • Bleed the brake system. Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
    • Is the brake pedal still spongy? 
    • Yes  : GO to I2.
    • No  : The brake system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by air in the hydraulic system.
  2. I2 BLEED THE BRAKE SYSTEM 
    • Yes  : REFER to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
    • No  : The brake system is operating correctly. The concern may have been caused by air in the hydraulic control unit (HCU).
