Removal & Installation - 3.9L

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  3. Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the bolt and the CKP sensor.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
    • Inspect and install a new O-ring seal as necessary.
  5. NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
