Removal & Installation (Focus 2.0L DOHC)

  1. Ensure ignition switch is turned to OFF position. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air cleaner outlet tube. Remove accelerator cable retaining clip. Disconnect accelerator cable from bracket.
  2. On vehicles equipped with cruise control, disconnect cruise control cable from throttle body. Remove cruise control cable from bracket. On all vehicles, disconnect fuel injector electrical connectors. Remove fuel pressure sensor. Position fuel injection wiring harness aside. Remove fuel injection supply manifold and injectors.
  3. Install NEW injector "O" ring seals. Lubricate injector "O" rings with clean engine oil. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
