Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the seat backrest. For additional information, refer to FRONT SEAT BACKREST - BENCH  in this article.
  2. NOTE: LH side shown, RH similar.

  3. Remove both the recliner handle clips and remove the handles.
  4. Release the J-clip and invert the backrest trim up to expose the recliner latches.

  5. Position the backrest foam pad up for access to the recliner bolts.

  6. Remove the two LH backrest recliner bolts.

  7. NOTE: During installation, make sure the recliner latches are seated in the adjusting rod before installing the recliner latch bolts.
  8. Remove the LH recliner latch and adjusting rod.
    1. Remove the LH recliner latch from the adjusting rod.
    2. Remove the recliner adjusting rod from the RH recliner latch and slide the adjusting rod out of the seat frame tubes.

  9. Remove the two RH backrest recliner bolts and remove the recliner latch.

  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
