Removal and Installation

NOTE:
New retaining bolts (W710721) must be installed, do not reuse the bolts that were removed. Retaining studs and nuts can be reused.
- Remove the seat mounting retainer covers.
- Remove the front safety belts from the front seat. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
- Remove the front bench seat.
- Remove and discard the front two mounting retaining bolts.
- Remove the rear two nuts.
- Disconnect the safety belt buckle electrical connector, and remove the front seat.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Adjust the seat to the full forward and rearward positions a few times to assure safety belt and buckle accessibility.
- Make sure the safety belt is not twisted prior to installation.
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
NOTE:
Removing the front seat requires more than one technician.
NOTE:
When installing the seat, tighten the new front mounting bolts, then the rear mounting nuts.
