Diagnostic Aids
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 25 other vehicles, including the 2002 Lincoln Town Car, 2002 Lincoln Navigator, 2002 Lincoln LS, 2002 Lincoln Continental, and 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. Perform this test only when instructed during QUICK TEST or if directed by other test procedures. This test is only intended to diagnose the following:
- Visctronic Drive Fan Clutch. See Fig 1.
- Visctronic Drive Fan Speed Sensor
- Wiring Harness Circuits Fan Control-Variable (FC-V), Fan Speed Sensor (FSS), PWRGND, Vehicle Buffered Power (VBPWR) & VPWR. See Fig 2.
- Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
FANSS PID will indicate fan RPM, and FANSSM will indicate if Hall Effect sensor for VDF fan speed is always HIGH or always LOW.
