Removal and Installation

- Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING in this service information.
- Remove the Throttle Body (TB). For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING & CONTROLS - 3.0L (4V) -- FUSION & MILAN article.
- Remove the coolant pump belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE - 3.0L (4V) -- FUSION & MILAN article.
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the coolant pump housing.
- Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
- Disconnect both heater hoses from the coolant pump housing.
- Remove the 2 coolant inlet pipe bolts.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Remove the 3 bolts, 2 nuts and the coolant pump housing.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seals and gasket.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals and gasket.
