Drive Pinion Seal: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the driveshaft. For additional information, refer to DRIVESHAFT article.
  3. Using the Drive Pinion Flange Holding Fixture, hold the pinion flange and remove the pinion flange nut.
    • Discard the nut.

  4. Index-mark the location of the pinion flange to the yoke.

  5. Using the 2 Jaw Puller, remove the pinion flange.

  6. Using the Converter Seal Remover and Slide Hammer, remove and discard the drive pinion seal.
