Removal (Van)

- Disconnect negative battery cable(s). Drain cooling system. Remove engine cover. Remove air cleaner and outlet tube assembly. Remove cooling fan and fan shroud. Remove oil indicator tube. Remove upper intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD . Raise and support vehicle.
- Drain engine oil. Loosen transmission mount-to-rear crossmember nuts. Disconnect exhaust pipe at exhaust manifolds. Remove motor mount-to-subframe nuts. Remove flywheel inspection plate. Raise engine about 13" and position blocks between motor mounts and subframe. Remove oil pan retaining bolts. Remove oil pan and gasket.
