Valve Springs: Installation

- Using the Valve Spring Compressors, install the valve spring.
- Insert the valve spring and the valve spring retainer.
- Compress the valve spring and install the valve collet using some grease and a small screwdriver.
- Disconnect the compressed air supply.
- Repeat the appropriate removal and installation steps for all of the other cylinders.
- Install the spark plugs. For additional information, refer to ENGINE IGNITION - 2.5L -- FUSION, MILAN & MKZ article.
- Coat the valve tappets with clean engine oil and insert them.
- Install the camshafts. For additional information, refer to CAMSHAFTS in this service information.
NOTE:
Check the seating of the valve collet.
