Pinpoint Test A: The Ignition Switch Is Inoperative

  1. A1 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE IGNITION SWITCH 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Ignition Switch C250.
    • Measure the voltage between the ignition switch circuits and ground, as follows:
      IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUITS

      Ignition Switch Circuit
      C250-7 37 (YE)
      C250-12 37 (YE)
      C250-2 325 (DB/OG)
      C250-9 1050 (LG/PK)

    • Are the voltages greater than 10 volts? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to IGNITION SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • No  : REPAIR the circuit(s) in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
