WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 32 other vehicles, including the 2011 Mercury Milan, 2011 Mercury Mariner, 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis, 2011 Lincoln Town Car, and 2011 Lincoln Navigator L. The EVAP canister vent solenoid (located near the EVAP canister) is part of the enhanced EVAP system controlled by the PCM. During the EVAP leak check monitor, the EVAP canister vent solenoid seals the EVAP canister from the atmospheric pressure. This allows the EVAP canister purge valve to achieve the target vacuum in the fuel tank during the EVAP leak check monitor.
