Pinpoint Test Ad: The Trailer Lamps Are On Continuously

- AD1 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE TRAILER TOW CONNECTOR
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Trailer Tow C4098 (4-pin).
- Disconnect: Trailer Tow C4099 (7-pin).
- Disconnect the trailer from the vehicle.
- Place the headlamp switch on the OFF position.
- Measure the voltage between trailer tow C4098 (4-pin connector) or trailer tow C4099(7-pin connector) and ground as follows:TRAILER TOW CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION
Connector-Pin Connector-Pin Circuit C4098-3 C4099-1 52 (YE) C4098-4 C4099-4 64 (DG) C4098-2 C4099-6 962 (BN/WH) - C4099-7 963 (BK/LG) - Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
- Yes
: If the trailer parking or reversing lamps are on continuously GO to AD2.
If the trailer LH or RH turn lamps are on continuously, GO to AD3.
- No : Vehicle is operating correctly. SEND the trailer to an authorized camper/trailer repair center.
- AD2 CHECK THE CENTRAL JUNCTION BOX (CJB)
- Disconnect: CJB C270j.
- Measure the voltage between CJB (component side) and ground as follows:CJB CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION
CJB (component side) Pin Circuit description C270j 7 reversing lamp circuit C270j 15 parking lamp circuit - Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- Yes : INSTALL a new CJB. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR circuit 962 (BN/WH) or 963 (BK/LG) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
- AD3 CHECK THE RELAY
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Trailer LH or RH Turn Relay.
- Carry out the component test for the LH or RH turn trailer tow relay. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING .
- Is the relay OK?
- Yes : REPAIR circuit 52 (YE) (LH turn) or 64 (DG) (RH turn) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : INSTALL a new LH or RH turn trailer tow relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
