Pinpoint Test J: The STOPLAMPS Are On Continuously

- J1 CHECK THE BRAKE PEDAL POSITION (BPP) SWITCH
- Disconnect: BPP Switch C278.
- Are the stoplamps illuminated?
- Yes : GO to J2.
- No : INSTALL a new BPP switch. REFER to LAMP SWITCH - BRAKE PEDAL POSITION (BPP) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- J2 CHECK CIRCUIT 511 (LG) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202a.
- Does the high mounted stoplamp continue to illuminate?
- Yes : REPAIR circuit 511 (LG). TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : GO to J3.
- J3 CHECK THE MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH
- Connect: Multifunction Switch C202a.
- Disconnect: Multifunction Switch C202b.
- Do the rear stoplamps continue to illuminate?
- Yes : GO to J4.
- No : INSTALL a new multifunction switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- J4 CHECK THE CIRCUIT 5 (OG/LB) AND CIRCUIT 9 (LG/OG) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Disconnect: Central Junction Box (CJB) C270b.
- Do the rear stoplamps continue to illuminate?
- Yes : GO to J5.
- No : REPAIR circuit 5 (OG/LB) or circuit 9 (LG/OG) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
- J5 CHECK THE CJB
- Disconnect: CJB C270j.
- Do the rear stoplamps continue to illuminate?
- Yes : REPAIR circuit 5 (OG/LB) or circuit 9 (LG/OG) as necessary. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : INSTALL a new CJB. TEST the system for normal operation.
