Inspection and Verification

- Verify the customer concern by operating the daytime running lamps (DRLs) following these steps:
- Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
- Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
- Apply and hold the brake pedal.
- Place the transmission in any gear other than PARK (P).
- If the DRL does not operate, make sure the lighting control module (LCM) is configured for DRL before proceeding to the next step.
- Carry out the continuous and on-demand self tests for the LCM.
- If any DTCs are retrieved related to concern, refer to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article to continue diagnosis of the LCM DTC.
- If no DTCs are retrieved, go to Step 3.
- Verify the high beam operation.
- Place the headlamp switch in the HEADLAMPS ON position.
- Place the multifunction switch in the HIGH BEAM position.
- If the high beams do not operate correctly, refer to Headlamps to continue diagnosis of the high beam headlamps.
- If the high beams operate correctly and the DRL operation is incorrect, install a new LCM. Refer to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article. Test the system for normal operation.
