Removal & Installation: QX4: Removal

- Disconnect negative battery cable. Raise and support vehicle. Remove crankshaft position sensor. Drain transmission fluid. Remove front and rear exhaust tubes. Disconnect electrical connectors, control cables, shift linkage and hoses as necessary for removal. Remove drive shaft. Remove second crossmember and front drive shaft (4WD). Remove starter and gussets.
- Mark drive plate in relation to torque converter for installation reference. Remove torque converter bolts. Support transmission (and transfer case on 4WD) with jack. Remove rear transmission mount. Remove engine-to-transmission bolts. Remove transmission and transfer case as an assembly.
