Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING -- ESCAPE, ESCAPE HYBRID, MARINER & MARINER HYBRID .
  2. NOTE: Lubricate the engine oil filter gasket with clean engine oil prior to installing.
  3. Remove the engine oil filter.
    • To install, tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) and then rotate an additional 180 degrees.
  4. Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure (EOP) switch electrical connector.
  5. Remove the EOP  switch.
    • To install, tighten to 14 Nm (124 lb-in).
  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Apply thread sealant to the EOP  switch threads.
